One of Trump’s strongest bases in the 2016 elections was the Christian Evangelical.
An article posted by Christianity Today entitled “Trump Should Be Removed from Office” has been a talking point for the last few days, as Trump labeled the magazine “far-left” and said this as well:
“I guess the magazine, “Christianity Today,” is looking for Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, or those of the socialist/communist bent, to guard their religion. How about Sleepy Joe? The fact is, no President has ever done what I have done for Evangelicals, or religion itself!” – Trump, Twitter
Just as Trump denounced the article, so did Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, who was an evangelical that held a great deal of sway with past presidents.
“[my father] would’ve been very embarrassed that the magazine he started would call for something like this when there are no crimes committed.” – Franklin Graham
But fold after fold of Evangelicals have come out of the woodworks to state that the Christianity Today editorial is not representative of the general population, adding that the news center went out of being objective a long time ago.
But, if you would like to draw your own conclusion regarding the editorial, you can read it here.
