A surprising twist has come regarding the CDC’s position on how the infamous COVID spreads.
While they remain solid on their position regarding social distancing, they have determined surfaces are not a likely route of transmission.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now says the novel virus “does not spread easily” from “touching surfaces or objects” — but experts warn that doesn’t mean it’s no longer necessary to take “practical and realistic” precautions in stopping the spread of COVID-19.”
There are other ways they still suggest that it is spreading; primarily through “droplets.” These are tiny particles that are expressed when we speak, cough, or sneeze within range of someone’s mucus membranes (mouth, nose, etc.)
Here are the ways they are positive it is spreading:
- Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet)
- Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks
- These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs
- COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms
What do you think – does COVID spread on surfaces?
Gratefully,

Typically, some families of Viruses mutate, usually by changing/shifting their antigens (just like changing a lock on a door, it requires a new key to put it simply). So, even if you’ve had the Virus before, this new mutation you haven’t had yet, so your body has to go through the same process of getting sick, developing antibodies, and eventually (hopefully too), defeating the viral pathogen. Usually Viruses that mutate have a 50/50 chance of either becoming more or less pathogenic (disease causing), there are exceptions though. HIV is an exception, because it shifts it’s antigens every time the bodies… Read more »
I will still wear latex gloves in public.
Have heard it said that the droplets are in the air 14 feet near anybody in the area. So maybe the 6 feet rule is obsolete. I’m thinking that the face mask is necessary now.
Yes, it is still spread on surfaces, and droplets when people cough, sneeze or talk regardless, and I think even by breathing through your noses or mouths when sleeping beside your partner or children. And also when people are sleeping with mouth open sometimes their saliva drips to their faces and pillows and that could also spread the virus.
Germs land on all kinds of surfaces. Your face and hands are also surfaces. Mask are also surfaces. So if they are telling the truth the real only way you can actually get it is by kissing the infected person or putting your nose inside theirs. Are people really listening to these idiot CDC people anymore. You get a temperature with infections. The flu is a virus which is an infection. You may not feel bad with a slight increase in your temperature.
How are we supposed to take anything they tell us seriously at this point…it’s all been conjecture and lies to jin up the death rates to perpetuate the hysteria?
It depends on the surface and who really knows at this stage of the game. This a new situation. Only time will tell so be as careful as you can.
Its been around since at least 1931. Do your research. It’s a strain of the flu. Its a cousin to Sars. We had an out break in2005-2006 flu season. Most people got a vaccine. Now when they get tested, they test positive. Why? Because a vaccine contains the virus. This is why people don’t know they have it with no symptoms. They don’t really have it. Its the vaccine they had that turns up in the testing. Its not a new thing. How many time have you gotten the Pollio vaccine? Or the smallpox vaccine? Once you have the vaccine… Read more »
