Two ex Green-Berets were arrested yesterday as a small town of fishermen turned them in after they were staying there.
The two special forces members identified as Luke Denman and Airan Berry were arrested with 13 other “terrorists” according to the Venezuelan leader Maduro. Infamously, Maduro said they were “playing Rambo…playing hero.”
Maduro also said that the US Government was “fully and completely involved in this defeated raid.”
The Washington Post detailed that both the US government and Juan Guaido (the Venezuelan opposition leader) denied any involvement with these men.
The Guardian reported that Guaidó’s team denied any connection to Florida-based ex-Green Beret Jordan Goudreau who said earlier Monday that his mission intended to detain Maduro and “liberate” Venezuela. Goudreau has claimed responsibility for the operation. The AP reported earlier that Goudreau was working with a retired Venezuelan army general facing U.S. narcotics charges along with other defectors. The report said the makeshift army of about 60 lacked U.S. support. – Fox News
