In Wisconsin, where protests and riots are still raging on, the Governor activated the national guard last night after two more statues were torn down.
On June 24th, we covered Senator Tim Carpenter’s attack by the mob in Wisconsin. After that attack and the toppling of two statues in the city as well as vandalism on the state Capitol building, Governor Tony Evers activated the national guard. Here’s his statement on their purpose there:
The guardsmen will protect state properties and “make sure people can exercise their First Amendment rights while ensuring the safety of members of the public and state buildings and infrastructure,” Gov. Tony Evers said. (Fox News)
The protesting vandals listed this as one of their demands:
“…firing of a Madison police officer involved in the 2015 shooting of Tony Robinson, 19-year-old black man.”
Here’s one of the statues they toppled.
The statue stood for the state’s motto of “Forward.”
What do you think – is destroying statues a good way to get the BLM word out?
