NYC Mayor DeBlasio released the school plan for the Fall. It’s called a “blended” system with students at school 2-3 days per week and at home the rest of the time.
The plan still requires state approval. Under the plan, about 1.1 million students would attend in-school two or three days a week, while the rest would work from home, then they would switch each week.
“This blended model, this kind of split schedule model, is what we can do under current conditions,” the Democratic mayor said. “And then let’s hope and pray science helps us out with a vaccine, with a cure or treatment.” – DeBlasio
DeBlasio also shut down all large gatherings – with an exception for Black Lives Matter protests, stating that they are “too important” and that research has shown the protests are not increasing COVID-19 cases. Researchers, in the limitations of their studies, have noted that individuals staying home may have offset the spread caused by protests.
What do you think about DeBlasio’s new policies?
